Privacy
Your information, handled with care.
Version 1.0. Table Stakes provides introductions and coordination. Members make their own reservations, attend voluntarily, and pay the restaurant directly.
What's collected
- Account: name, email, mobile phone (optional), password.
- Profile: photo, short bio, community memberships, city/state, and a rough location (ZIP or coordinates) used only to place you at a nearby table.
- Matching preferences: cuisines, spending comfort, dietary needs, accessibility needs, availability, travel radius.
- Activity: registrations, table membership, restaurant votes, chat messages with your table, feedback and testimonials, safety reports.
How it's used
- Group people into tables and propose restaurants that meet the group's needs.
- Send you gathering reminders, reconfirmation prompts, and post-table follow-ups.
- Review safety reports and enforce the Code of Conduct.
- Improve matching quality using aggregate, non-identifying signals.
Who sees what
- Before your table is revealed: nobody at your table sees anything about you.
- After reveal: your table sees your first name, last initial, photo, short bio, general city, communities you belong to, and any accessibility needs you chose to share. Your exact ZIP, phone, email, and full last name are never shown.
- The community team can see your full profile for safety and support.
- Restaurants only receive the reservation name and party size — nothing about individual members.
Vendors the service relies on
A small set of vendors runs parts of the service: hosting and database (Lovable Cloud / Supabase), email delivery, and mapping. Vendors are contractually restricted from using member data for advertising or general model training. New vendors are added to this list before they're enabled.
Retention
- Profile: kept while your account is active. Anonymized after 24 months of inactivity.
- Gathering activity: kept for 12 months, then dropped or aggregated.
- Safety reports: kept indefinitely for legal-hold and repeat-behavior review.
- You can delete your account at any time from Privacy requests.
Your choices
You can download your data, correct it, pause matching, or delete your account from Privacy requests. You can also revoke consent to share your contact info with other members from your profile.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your full profile is limited to you and the community team, and the principle of least privilege is followed for every internal tool.
