Help & safety
Help is here when you need it.
Please read this first.
Table Stakes helps members of Arlan’s communities connect for independently attended, in-person gatherings.
Table Stakes does not verify government identification, conduct criminal background checks, authenticate every statement in a member’s profile, or guarantee the identity, conduct, intentions, qualifications, or safety of any participant.
Although participation is limited to people who appear to have access to an eligible Arlan community, community membership is not a safety screening or endorsement.
By participating, you understand that meeting people in person involves ordinary risks. You are responsible for deciding whether to attend, protecting your personal information, arranging your own transportation, paying your own expenses, and leaving any situation that makes you uncomfortable.
All official gatherings must take place in public commercial venues. Never meet a Table Stakes match for the first time at a private home, hotel room, vehicle, or isolated location.
Call local emergency services if you believe you or someone else is in immediate danger.
Meeting new people, safely.
A few gentle reminders before every gathering. These aren't rules — they're what the most experienced members already do.
- Meet in a public place
All Table Stakes gatherings happen at a public restaurant. Never share your home address before meeting.
- Tell someone your plans
Share the time, restaurant, and who you're meeting with a friend or family member.
- Trust your instincts
If something feels off — before, during, or after — you can leave at any time. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
- Report anything concerning
Use the Report button on any member's card. Reports go straight to the community team and stay confidential.
- Keep your own transportation
Arrive and leave on your own so you're never dependent on someone you just met for a ride home.
- Protect personal details
There's no need to share your full address, workplace, or financial information at a first table.
Email hello@thetable.example for account issues, verification questions, or gathering support.
Signed-in members can report a concerning experience from their dashboard. Reports go directly to the community team.
For any situation requiring immediate assistance, please contact your local emergency services first.
