Code of conduct
The community standards for every table.
Version 1.0. Every member accepts this at signup and re-accepts before each gathering.
- 1.Treat every member with respect.
No belittling, condescension, or hostility — including toward people who aren't at the table.
- 2.Make room for every voice.
Do not dominate the conversation. Ask questions. Let the quietest person finish.
- 3.No harassment or discrimination.
Zero tolerance for slurs, sexual harassment, or targeting anyone based on identity.
- 4.No pitching, pressuring, or soliciting.
Do not pressure members to buy, invest, donate, hire, or make introductions. This is a community meal, not a sales meeting.
- 5.Protect privacy.
Do not share another member's contact information, home address, workplace, or anything personal outside the table without permission.
- 6.No recording without consent.
No audio, video, or photos of people at the table without everyone's explicit consent.
- 7.No marketing lists.
Do not add members to newsletters, CRMs, or DMs based on the fact that you met here.
- 8.You are responsible for yourself.
Your transportation, your food and drinks, your safety, your check. Never rely on someone you just met for a ride home.
- 9.Public restaurants only.
Meet only at the restaurant on your dinner card. Do not pressure the table to move to a private location.
- 10.Report concerns quickly.
If something feels wrong — before, during, or after a gathering — report it through the app. Emergencies: contact local authorities first.
What happens if these are broken.
The community team reviews every report and chooses the appropriate step. Repeat behavior escalates.
- Level 1 — Warning
Private note from the community team. Recorded on your account.
- Level 2 — Removed from a table
You are removed from an upcoming or current table. Others at that table are notified you can no longer attend.
- Level 3 — Matching paused
Your account is paused. You cannot register for gatherings while under review.
- Level 4 — Permanent removal
Account permanently closed. You may not create a new one.
- Level 5 — Community referral
For behavior tied to your source community, what happened may be shared with that community's leadership.
- Level 6 — Emergency referral
For behavior that indicates immediate danger, Arlan cooperates with law enforcement as appropriate.
For any situation requiring immediate assistance, please contact your local emergency services first, then let the Table Stakes community team know so someone can support you.
